After being relegated from the LIV Golf League in 2024, this Zimbabwean golfer is set to make his much-anticipated debut on the DP World Tour at the Mauritius Open, and he couldn’t be more hopeful.
A Rocky Ride in LIV Golf
Kieran had a tough time during his first season in the LIV Golf League, wrapping up the year in a disappointing 54th place in the standings. With a best finish of only a T18 in Nashville, it’s fair to say it wasn’t the kind of campaign he’d envisioned. Despite being part of Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII, a team that fiercely claimed four tournament victories and finished second on the leaderboard, Vincent struggled to find his form.
As part of his journey, he tried to fight his way back in the Promotions tournament held in Saudi Arabia but fell short, finishing a significant 10 strokes behind Lee Chieh-po. He made his initial waves in the sport on the PGA Tour Canada before making the jump to LIV Golf via the Promotions event in 2023. And what a way to kick off his pro career! He celebrated a massive win at the 2023 International Series Vietnam on the Asian Tour and followed it up with another impressive victory on the Sunshine Tour in 2024.
It seems like golf runs in the family, as Kieran’s older brother, Scott, faced a similar fate, also being relegated from the LIV Golf League in 2024. Scott, who played for Iron Heads GC, has now been replaced by Korea’s Yubin Jang.
