For those who’ve played at TCI, you might remember the hiccup with the course layout. The original hole 9 was a bit of a head-scratcher since it didn’t lead back to the clubhouse. This made it difficult for golfers to grab a quick bite or freshen up before heading out for the back nine. Not the most convenient setup, right?
A Vision for Improvement
With a fresh perspective, Stephen Kahler, the general manager who took the reins in 2020, was determined to make some changes. He brought back Erik Larsen, the original architect of TCI, to work his magic again. With a portfolio of over 100 golf courses across the globe, Erik knew just how to revamp things.
A temporary fix was put into play back in May 2021, where the front and back nines were flipped, and the addition of Palmer’s Sports Pub next to the golf shop added a spark to the atmosphere. Golfers loved the exposure it provided, and it gained rave reviews throughout the 2021 and 2022 seasons. But the best was yet to come!
