A Remarkable Start with an Eagle
The inaugural Women’s Hop Brook Club Championship kicked off on August 24, marking a special day for club member Carol Douty. In a stunning display of talent, Douty made an eagle on hole 2, allowing her to steal the spotlight, even if just for a moment. This achievement highlights that while the club fosters enjoyment, it’s also a space where playing skills can shine.

The brainchild of the club is Kerrin Kallmann, who identified the need for a welcoming environment where women can enjoy golf without the stressing pressure of competition. In July 2023, she took the initiative to gather a handful of friends who shared her interest in the game. This small beginning has blossomed into a family of golfers ranging from ages 27 to 80.
