Golf Course Renovations in Southwest Florida Accelerate as Snowbirds Depart

As the seasonal snowbirds prepare to head north, golf clubs in Southwest Florida are turning their sights to some exciting renovations! With lighter traffic on the fairways, facilities like The Forest, Legends Country Club, and Colonial Country Club are seizing the opportunity to make some extensive improvements.

Colonial Country Club Goes Big

What’s on the agenda for Colonial? Well, the greens are getting a complete makeover according to USGA specifications, meaning they will be rebuilt from the ground up to ensure a top-notch golfing experience. Along with the greens, cracked cart paths will be replaced, and all of the bunkers will get a refreshing update, making the course both attractive and functional.

This massive renovation has been in the pipeline since 2021, with two years of design discussions and gathering input from club members to create a course that players will love. With a skilled workforce of around 100 individuals working full throttle, the renovations are in good hands, led by Fort Myers-based Clark Construction.
